Peaceful Valley Honey Hosts Davie County Beekeeper Association's Fourth Annual Apiary Day

Before actually opening the hives, there were some last minute instructions and a demonstration on removing frames, followed by students lighting their own smokers.

Smokers lit, students open hives. They passed around frames of honeybees with their brood, honey and pollen.

As the day drew to a close, names were drawn for the free hives that were donated by several members of Davie County Beekeepers Association and for door prizes donated by Brushy Mountain Bee Farm, Miller Bee, Dadant, Better Bee, Blue Sky and Mann Lake.
