Peaceful Valley Honey

We at Peaceful Valley Honey are strong believers in wholesome and natural products. We believe that honey should be bottled in its natural state without heating it or processing it in any way. This preserves the nutrients that could be destroyed by high heat. Unprocessed honey, also called raw honey, contains trace enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids.
Honey is the only known food that does not get stale or spoil. When closed tightly after each use, honey will last forever. Honey that crystalizes or "goes to sugar," can be returned to its liquid state by sitting it on a sunny window sill or in a pan of warm water. This gentle form of heat is not harmful.

All over the world, honey is enjoyed for its sweet flavor. Honey is commonly used as a spread for breads from biscuits to toast to nutty whole-grain muffins. It is spooned into teas and drizzled into smoothies.

Honey is a main stay in spicy barbecue sauces and fruity ham glazes. Many restaurant menus include honey mustard salad dressings or honey butters. Honey also is used as an ingredient in a range of manufactured products, from honey graham crackers and other cookies to cereals to honey beers.

In addition to the delicious recipes we use honey in, honey is also used for energy replacement by athletes. Research has shown that honey is a good pre-workout energy source, aids an athlete's endurance and helps in athlete muscle recovery following a race or workout.

Throughout history, honey has been valued as a healing product. Many use honey to soothe a cough or sore throat. Because of its antimicrobial properties, it has been used in burn dressings and surgical dressings. Recent research shows that consuming honey prior to bed time will improve sleep. Honey is helpful in relieving allergy symptoms, as is bee pollen and propolis.

Honey and beeswax are used in beauty products. Makers of natural lotions, soaps, shampoos and lip balms recognize and prize honey and beeswax for the nourishing properties they provide for our skin, lips and hair.

My Grandson the Honey Lover When our bees make honey they not only make it for your family, they make it for ours. Rest assured that the same care you expect to go into the foods for your family goes into caring for our bees as well as collecting and bottling our honey. Some of our biggest fans are still growing... just like our grandson, pictured here!
